How Need That Game Works

What is Need That Game?

This site was created by true gamers for true gamers as a place where we can buy and sell games, consoles and loads of other stuff from other gaming fans. We are not like eBay, but instead we have a unique approach: by encouraging low prices and keeping fees as low as possible, we’re about creating a space for gamers over making profits.

Please be aware this website is in the ‘beta’ phase – as time goes on we aim to improve and grow. Please contact us if you have any problems, and any feedback is greatly appreciated.

How Does It Work?

We’ve worked hard to you don’t have to! Using NTG is really simple: anyone can browse the listings but, if you want to buy an item, you’ll need to create a user account - it’s totally free and simple to set up. Once you’re up and running, you’ll be able to start buying right away.

If you’re looking to sell on NTG, you’ll also need to set up a Stripe account to handle payments. It’s really quick and easy to do, so it shouldn’t hold you up.

What Is Stripe?

Stripe is a really simple, transparent payment platform that’s used and trusted by businesses around the world. With a pay-as-you-go Stripe account you’ll pay much lower fees than you would with other services like PayPal and you won’t need to be an expert to manage your account - it’s really straightforward and easy to use. You can find out more about Stripe here

Your Listings

ou are free to list any game, console and accessories you like, but they must be in their correct category. If you list your item in the wrong category, it will be removed without warning. You will be prompted to select a category at the time of creating your listing.

All listings are displayed by default in order of the cheapest item first. There are several reasons for this:

  • To prevent resellers from trying to make more money than what an item is really wort
  • So that buyers can always be sure of getting the best possible deal for an item
  • To help sellers to sell their items as quickly as possible
  • What Are The Fees?

For buyers, there are no fees at all. Listings will display the asking price for the item, plus a price for postage and packing: that’s it.

For sellers, unlike eBay, there is no charge to list your items, just a flat-rate fee of 7.5% to Need That Game when you sell. Stripe will charge a small fee (currently 1.4%) on each transaction.

When you start creating your first listing, you’ll be prompted to sign up with Stripe - just follow the link provided and then follow the instructions on the Stripe site and you’ll be up and running in no time.

  • Postage & Packing

We strongly recommend that all items are sent via recorded or tracked delivery. You can add a tracking code to any sold listings in the ‘Sold Listings’ area of your account pages. This will reassure the buyer that the item has been dispatched and is on its way. It will also help in any potential disputes that may arise. If you choose to post an item without sending by recorded or tracked delivery, please ensure that you obtain proof of posting when sending the item. Any disputes involving items without tracking information or at least proof of posting will be found in the buyer's favour.

At present this site is for users in the United Kingdom only. If a buyer is from another country and you send the item overseas, we will not be able to recover the costs should any dispute arise.

    Refunds

If your item arrives it is not what was described, or if you item never arrived, you can open a dispute. To do this, go to your purchase page and click ‘dispute’, then fill in the form and send it to us. We may contact you for more information and, once a decision is made, both you and the seller will be notified. You will then need to return the item to the seller using a tracked or recorded service. Once the item has been sent back, we will check the tracking number and your money will be refunded. Please note: you will be required to send the tracking number to us otherwise we cannot help with your dispute.

Unfortunately, once an item has been paid for we cannot return our fee - this covers the expenses we have incurred.
